Across Snow Mountains
Description
"Across snow mountains" is one of the landmark events during the Long March undertaken by the Red Army of the Communist Party of China from October 1934 to October 1935 to escape from the fifth encirclement campaign by Chiang Kai-shek’s Chinese Nationalist Party. The Chinese Nationalist Party pursued the Red Army across southern China going west and following them north. Under Chiang’s pursuit, harsh conditions and limited food supply, the Red Army climbed eighteen high elevation (over 4000 metres) mountains, of which included five snow-covered mountains.
