Transliterated: Qīyì zhōngguó rénmín shì yuènán rénmín de jiānqiáng hòudùn, liáokuò de zhōngguó lǐngtǔ shì yuènán rénmín de kěkào hòufāng 。zài wǒmen liǎngguó rénmín jiānqiáng de zhànzhēng tuánjié miànqián, měidìzhǔyì de rènhé jūnshì màoxiǎn hé zhèngzhì qīpiàn dōu shì zhùdìng yào shībài de 。
Translation: The 700 million Chinese people are the strong backing of the Vietnamese, and the vast expanse of China’s territory is Vietnam’s rear area. In the face of the solid unity of the Chinese and Vietnamese peoples, any military adventure and political deception of American imperialism are doomed to failure.
This an excerpt of a letter Mao Zedong wrote to the Chairman of Consultative Council of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam, Nguyễn Hữu Thọ for congratulating the seventh anniversary of the establishment of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam. In the name of the 700 million Chinese people, Mao declared the resolutely and warmly support to the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam for defeating U.S. imperialism during the Vietnam War.
