The Chinese People Have Stood Up
Description
“The Chinese People Have Stood Up” was Mao Zedong’s opening address at the First Plenary Session of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference on 21 September 1949. Mao declared the founding of the People's Republic of China on October 1, 1949 on Tiananmen Square in Beijing where 300,000 troops and civilians gathered together. The ceremony included military parade, gun salutes and firework display, and parade with music and dance.
